Best moment this week: Seeing Baby V at my ultrasound!
Miss anything? Competing in mud runs at my full potential
Movement: At the ultrasound he was moving a whole lot. The doctor couldn't believe I wasn't feeling him. We watched him kick in real time and I said out loud... "OH! That's what it feels like!" Not what I expected ;) So..yes...I have been feeling him!
Food cravings: Nope
Anything making you queasy or sick: Sweet things...especially fruit.
Labor signs: Nope
Symptoms: Growth
Belly button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy :D
Looking forward to: Christmas!

This week was our ultrasound with the doctor! It was super special to see Baby V. He is definitely a boy and he likes to move! He has lots of padding around him so I don't feel him super strong yet...but the doctor said in the next month he is going to double in size...wow!

Here is Baby V on his side with his face facing front. It was so neat to see his eyes and lips and little chin. Just chillin on his arm!

Baby V waved at us! Look at those perfect fingers!

This week we also did the Badass Bash.

We signed up for it a year ago and had no idea I would be pregnant now (we had hoped...but you know how that goes.) Anyways, so we decided to do it any way and I promised to take it easy. I am normally a very competitive person and for me it was very VERY hard to not push and it was also hard for me to not get upset at myself for what I couldn't, or shouldn't, do. I decided to skip any obstacles that involved heights because of my past experience falling and fracturing my spine. I did do a couple that involved climbing, but instead of climbing all the way up, I just did as much as I felt comfortable and then got down. Many people told me I was an inspiration, running in the even preggo, but I have to say I really learned my lesson.

The course was tough and the terrain was nasty. I got a lot of cuts, tripped over a lot of roots and ruts (resulting in falls), and trekking through all of the mud was more work that I realized. Later in the day, when I got home, I pretty much could not walk. I had lots of pain in my lower half and moving my legs caused tears. I was very upset with myself for being so stubborn but I think it definitely taught me a lesson.

I need to be more caring and accepting towards my body, pregnant or not.

That's That!

Let's start with the progress of the nursery!

We picked out the colors and started painting. Well, Nate started painting! He wouldn't let me in the room :)

We still plan on painting the ceiling and the fan and putting a border up. I am excited to see what else we will do. Should we get rid of the carpet???

This also seemed to be the week of the superhero...

Baby V is growing steadily and I seem to be feeling pretty good. I don't want to jinx it though!

Christmas time is coming! This week we went to Busch Gardens for their Christmas Town celebration and also had our work party. I snapped a couple pics at both events.

Work on Baby V's nursery began this week! Nate and Pearl worked hard painting :)

Here is the before!

We also started decorating for Christmas this week! We got a real tree, of course, and decorated (even though it was super hot outside!).

I also got a little nervous this week because I had not felt anything yet. A friend of mine was super awesome and let me borrow her doppler. We sat down and quietly searched for Baby V's heartbeat. Pearl loved how it sounded!

She kept turning her head to the side in awe of the little wooshes coming out of the speaker

This week Baby V is the size of an ONION
(Pearl likes to get in on the action!)

This was Thanksgiving week and boy do I have a lot to be thankful for! The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, we went to our running workout as normal with our running group, The Speedsters. After the sweaty workout we all walked over to a local restaurant, Ford's Garage, and had our annual holiday party. It was nice and we had over 60 people in attendance! Good thing the restaurant was quite slow that night. We had a great time and got to see many faces that we have missed!

Next came Thanksgiving morning. It was a fluke weather morning where the weather decided to drop drastically! No one was really prepared for it but it made for a festive day. This picture is one for the memory books! It is the start of the race, 2,500 people facing the start line and my big ole' belly parading right across the front of everyone! It was even on the front page of a section of the newspaper...blown up for all to see. Hysterical...I think...

Other than that, the week was a nice one. We had a few days off for the Thanksgiving holiday and decided to start getting odds and ends for Baby V's nursery. This mobile had my heart instantly and the elephant was something I have wanted for quite a while! So happy we got some time to spend thinking about the future and imagining what will be!
