How far along? 18 Weeks
Maternity clothes? yessssssss Thank goodness for stretchy jeans ;)

Best moment this week: On Friday night, we were laying in bed. I told Nate to stop tickling my stomach and he said he wasn't. I felt little flutters!!! I didn't believe he wasn't doing it so I made him out his hands in the air. Felt more flutters!!! HOw exciting!
Miss anything? Kinda been missing my appetite lately. I go to eat and don't want anything really.
Movement:fLuTtErS!
Food cravings: Absence of cravings for sure!

Work on Baby V's nursery began this week! Nate and Pearl worked hard painting :)

Here is the before!

We also started decorating for Christmas this week! We got a real tree, of course, and decorated (even though it was super hot outside!).

I also got a little nervous this week because I had not felt anything yet. A friend of mine was super awesome and let me borrow her doppler. We sat down and quietly searched for Baby V's heartbeat. Pearl loved how it sounded!

She kept turning her head to the side in awe of the little wooshes coming out of the speaker

This week Baby V is the size of an ONION
(Pearl likes to get in on the action!)

This was Thanksgiving week and boy do I have a lot to be thankful for! The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, we went to our running workout as normal with our running group, The Speedsters. After the sweaty workout we all walked over to a local restaurant, Ford's Garage, and had our annual holiday party. It was nice and we had over 60 people in attendance! Good thing the restaurant was quite slow that night. We had a great time and got to see many faces that we have missed!

Next came Thanksgiving morning. It was a fluke weather morning where the weather decided to drop drastically! No one was really prepared for it but it made for a festive day. This picture is one for the memory books! It is the start of the race, 2,500 people facing the start line and my big ole' belly parading right across the front of everyone! It was even on the front page of a section of the newspaper...blown up for all to see. Hysterical...I think...

Other than that, the week was a nice one. We had a few days off for the Thanksgiving holiday and decided to start getting odds and ends for Baby V's nursery. This mobile had my heart instantly and the elephant was something I have wanted for quite a while! So happy we got some time to spend thinking about the future and imagining what will be!

The Story of the Glow Worm

A long time ago, when I thought about my future mommy self, I imagined the first toy I would ever buy for my child. It was a glow worm. Don't know why but something about it was just right. I vowed to buy it as soon as I got pregnant. After a while of hoping and wishing, our dreams came true, and I found myself in search of this doll. Nate and I have searched for over a month and every store we had been to was either out of stock or didn't know what they were. Today I thought, I'll just go wander target and see if I have any luck. There it was...one left on the shelf...in the perfect shade of blue...like it was meant to be. I burst into crazy lady tears and I think I freaked the target employee out a bit. I finally have Baby V's Glow Worm maybe God was just making me wait until I knew whether I should buy pink or blue

15 Weeks

What a crazy week this has been! I have been cooking up a storm in the kitchen and celebrating my birthday here and there. I like to celebrate for a few days...but who doesn't?

I have been craving "man foods" lately. Which is unusual because I normally get teased because I eat "rabbit food". I made a DELICIOUS hamburger with a twisted lemon flavor and smothered it with baked sweet potato curls and roasted beets.

For my birthday, Nate surprised me with my first ultrasound. We went to a place in Fort Myers called Sweet Baby O'Mine and it was a really special experience. Baby V was pretty shy and kept sitting "criss-sross-applesauce" which made me super anxious. I had to keep wiggling and shaking, but I guess my belly is just to comfy. After our time was up, I thought we were getting kicked out with no gender reveal. Instead, they were SUPER nice and sent me to get some food and juice and hopefully Baby V would be energetic and start to move.

We went to Jason's Deli, not my ideal birthday dinner but it was still yummy, and I also an al natural orange juice to get some sugar in my system. After dinner, we went back to the place and I danced around until I was let back in. As soon as I sat back down and she started the machine, she blurted..."Oh look! It's a boy!"

A smile tore across my face as our future was revealed to us! What an amazing experience!

We went home and I was met with a house full of family and friends to surprise me for my birthday, a last minute plan that wound up super delayed because Baby V was a shy one. I couldn't keep the secret, I walked in and proclaimed..."It's a BOY!!!"

We were going to keep it a secret...but me + secrets = failure  :)

(Ironically, our running group is called The =Speedsters=, so this outfit was completely perfect! Thanks to my little sister-in-law)

The next night, we went out and bought our very first outfit for Baby V
(Daddy posing with Baby V's first outfit)

How far along? 15 Weeks :)

Best moment this week: Celebrating my birthday with a surprise 4D Ultrasound from my hubby! It was an amazing experience and we found out Baby V is a BOY!!!!!! We are soooo happy!!!!
Miss anything? Running fast
Movement: I thought I felt something...but it could easily have been gas ;)
Food cravings: Not really a major craving or anything out of control, but I am finding myself really enjoying man food. Pizza and burgers have been calling my name.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still leery of bananas and sugary fruits
Gender: Baby V is a BOY! We were hoping we would have a boy first :D
Labor signs: Nope
Symptoms: Growing body...does that count
Belly button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On.

14 Weeks Along!!!

I always think about starting a blog...oh and keeping one too! Hopefully this can evolve in to something special!

So YAY! We are starting our family!

My husband and I have been wanting this for quite some time and our life is finally in the place that this precious gift was able to come into our lives. We are expecting Baby V in May of 2014!

So...let the updates begin!

How far along? 14 weeks!
Maternity clothes? Yes! They are hard to come by though. Making things work until I get my wardrobe set :)
Stretch marks? Not yet
Best moment this week: Having someone in the gym congratulate me without me telling them I am preggo. Means I don't just look like I have gained some weight :)
Miss anything? Harder workouts
Movement: Nothing yet...still too early.
Food cravings: No...I wish though. I want to know what they are like. Sometimes I think I am having a craving, but it's more that I just want food that makes the nausea go away.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Seems like I am nauseous with anything that is not protein. I am having trouble with fruits especially, which sucks because I love green smoothies...usually.
Gender: No clue yet...It's getting hard to look at all of these cute clothes and have no idea which ones I "can" like <3
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: Nausea and stuffy nose
Belly button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Haven't really had any mood swings yet...guess that's a good thing!
Looking forward to: My next doctor's appointment!
